Rates will vary depending on the objective, the guide-to-client ratio and where the trip is taking place. Below is a rough guide on what you can expect to pay for a day of private guiding. These rates will include the guiding fee and all of the guide’s expenses for the day. When we offer a specific course or trip, we typically price it to include necessary hut fees and lift ticket expenses. Therefore the price list below is only a reference and is subject to change. Keep in mind that most technical guiding will be done at a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio; ski guiding or glacial treks can be done at up to a 5:1 ratio. Please call if you have with any questions regarding rates for a specific course or trip.
Domestic
- 1:1 – $350
- 2:1 – $400 (per group)
- 3:1 – $450 (per group)
International
- 1:1 – $550
- 2:1 – $650 (per group)
If you wish to book a trip, a 50% deposit is due 60 days before the start of the trip. The remainder of the balance is due 40 days prior to the start date. If you wish to book a trip within 60 days prior to the start, full payment is due at that time.
Cancellations
If you cancel a trip up to 60 days before the trip begins, you will be charged a $150 cancellation fee, but will otherwise be fully refunded. No refunds will be given for cancellations made 60 or fewer days prior to the start of the trip, or for bad weather.
We strongly encourage you purchase a travel insurance policy that will cover these costs in case unforeseen circumstances arise that would prevent you from taking the trip. Furthermore, we strongly recommend purchasing a rescue insurance plan through the American Alpine Club or a similar organization.
